Day 69 - Shortcut

Glen Innes Rail Bridge - Auckland, NZ

This is actually a photo a took several weeks ago, walking from work to get to the pools in Glen Innes. I took this same shortcut on my way home from work today so I feel its ok to use this photo!

This is a great shortcut, unless it's raining or it's been raining!  Then I take the long way...

I know a lot of people don't like Graffiti, I sit on both sides of the fence when it comes down to it.  I love the Graffiti which are more artworks on buildings, such as Big Letters, full colour, pictures.  Ones where people have actually taken the time to put their artwork up.  On the other side is the quick scrawl of someones 'name', thin, plain and a waste to the artwork beneath them. I call that tagging and it should definitely not be put in the same class.

I'm not a big fan of the graffiti/tagging on this bridge, but I do miss the graffiti that used to be all along the wall next to the walkway.  I used to smile when a new large image went up.  The council covered it up a couple of years ago with the ugliest shade of light brown I have ever seen.  Its so dull walking that way now.

I definitely think there is a place for them. I'd love to go through the Melbourne side streets one day, I hear they are full of Graffiti. What are your thoughts on Graffiti?
